A Thousand Miles - Darren James
Fresh off a 3 year break from writing music. Darren James has been focused on writing this first ever children's book 'Fox Tails'. This was released in October last year (2024) and is doing well. I can announce that a second book is currently in development. However after 3 years since he last wrote any music, Darren felt like it was the time and at the start of 2025, he wasted no time and started writing brand new songs. It wasn't long before we got back in the studio and started working on his brand new and exciting album 'A Thousand Miles'. The title number has already been released as the first single, and is available to download now.
I am really proud and excited to be producing this album with Darren. Darren has been working really hard on these songs and as the Producer, I feel these songs are incredible... but of course, we hope that you'll enjoy them just as much as we have enjoyed creating them.
Darren, singer turned songwriter has over 40 years of experience in the entertainment industry, and has been writing songs for a number of years now. In 2020 Darren and I produced two singles that he wrote 'Together' and 'I Give you what I've Got Today', these were in fact produced and released during the first lockdown.
"It wasn't an easy time (says Darren) but I took the opportunity to be creative and write. I had a lot of ideas for songs, and I even had the ambition to write a book. Not knowing at the time, how long we would be in lockdown for, I wanted to put the time I had to good use. I'd signed with Daniel just a couple of months earlier before we went into lockdown, and when I came to him with the idea, we saw the opportunity to be creative and do something we could be proud of. But while in a lockdown, and on opposite sides of the country, I know this wasn't going to be easy.. but, we used the technology, and tools we had and just went for it. Weeks went by, the time passed. 45 zoom meetings and phone calls, about 500 texts and emails, and I lost track of how many how many ideas we had. In the end, we did something that we could say we are proud of, and as time went on, we came out of lockdown ready to face the world, and with even more ideas and projects in development. I'm really excited to return to music and write this new album. The songs are about the relationship between 2 people and how the love starts and grows and also how love can be there one minute and drift away without any warning or right under your nose and you only realise when it's gone. This has been a really wonderful and creative few months and I hope you'll really enjoy this album".
So here we are 5 years later. 5 amazing, creative years with a the first 2 singles, a brand new book and now.. this new album. I couldn't be more super proud, and grateful to Darren as he has put in so much time and effort on these songs, and the result is something special. This is only the beginning!.
